I loved Peacemaker (Sharps & Springfield #1). Imagine Artemus Gordon and James West, but hotter with true monsters like vampires as villians. Owen Sharps and Calvin Springfield are secret service agents, Supernatural secret service to be exact. They met on a train to St. Louis and amiably chat until they arrive. That is when Owen and Calvin find out the other is their new partner. Good beginning for characters who had the time to get to know each other. Both men are queer in a time when it was illegal and very dangerous to be queer. It is so dangerous that they never discuss it at all. People are missing in St. Louis, including the first two agents sent to investigate the problem. With the support of side characters, Owen and Calvin set out to solve the mystery. Owen and Calvin are great characters. They are smart and brave without being careless. Their relationship is grown organically from the chatting on the train to caring for each other. I like that there is such a solid base before their relationship becomes physical. I enjoyed the side characters. They are strong and not two dimensional. I am excited to read the next book in the series. I have enjoyed and finished four out of five of Morgan Brice's series. I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.
