I read War of the Wicked when it was on a reading app and was titled Lucifer's Landing. I enjoyed it. War of the Wicked was not so much rereading as rediscovering it. The author, Davidson King, did not rewrite it as much as make it more complete. I love it! Davidson King is my favorite mafia author for a reason. Two mafia heads who are like night and day and have a history together. A young man who has seen the worst of life and made the best of what he has. Dante Scavo is the head of his family after the unexpected death of his father. The other heads of families are watching closely to find a weakness. All except Ren, the head of the Ikeda family. Childhood friends, Dante and Ren have respect for each other. Rainn Blessing, yes that is really his name, was rescued from a very bad situation by one of Dante's father's men. Instead of going back out on the streets, Rainn is offered the opportunity to become a high-priced and well-protected sex worker. Once the story begins, it does not stop. It is a fast-paced story that kept me reading when I should have been asleep. I enjoyed the romance between Dante and Rainn. I equally enjoyed the character of Ren. This is the start of a new series for Davidson King. I am excited to see where she takes it. I received an Advance Review Copy. I read it and wrote an honest review.
